Did you know that a lactating goat drinks 8 to 12 litres a day? You can imagine that good, clean drinking water therefore plays an important role. People often think that clear water is clean, but this does not have to be the case! We therefore also recommend having a water sample analysed periodically. As a goat farmer, you obviously don't want any surprises.

Water affects the health of goats

Water is essential for the health of goats. It plays a major role in bodily functions such as their digestion, temperature regulation, as well as general well-being. To prevent dehydration, it is necessary to ensure that water is available at all times. When this water is clean and tastes good, goats will keep drinking it. Shortage of water can lead to reduced milk production and health problems.

Contamination in water by biofilm

Having good drinking water is a challenge. The water must be free of micro-organisms, which are bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeasts. This, sometimes invisible, contamination can be harmful to goats. To control micro-organisms in the water, dangerous chemicals are often used. Disadvantages include environmental pollution, a lot of plastic waste and a risk to human and animal health. You would like to have clean water for your animals, but also contribute to a better world. So what solution is there for you?
