Meet the team: Microbiologist Eva

To get to know the company better, it is sometimes nice to let someone else have their say too. Our Marketing colleague Rianne asked Microbiologist Eva some questions about her work at Watter and how she got here, among other things.

Tell us about yourself? Who is Eva, what do you do at Watter and what is your life like outside Watter?

My name is Eva and I am 27 years old. I am not from this region but moved to Groningen for my studies at the time. My position within Watter is microbiologist. I assist clients in the agricultural sector, I do research in current projects and draw up new projects. Here and there I also have some other work to keep my job profile broad and diverse. Besides work, I enjoy playing sports and going into town with friends. On weekends, I can often be found at my friend's house.

How long have you been working here and how did you end up at Watter?

I have been working at Watter for a little over a year now. Before that, I did my graduation internship here for six months. I ended up at Watter through my internship coordinator. He had a list of potential internship companies, and I immediately found Watter very interesting. Via the website, I filled in the contact page and was then called. After my graduation, I stayed at Watter and hold the position of microbiologist.

How would you describe the colleagues and working atmosphere at Watter?

I find the atmosphere between colleagues very nice, relaxed and open. I also notice an open door policy here. If you're not having your day, you can tell them, it feels good and they understand. We also do a lot of things together. The team is very important to me. You achieve great results when you work together.

Which activities make you feel energised and energised?

When I'm doing laboratory research, I brighten up. I am intrinsically motivated because I really like science. I also like the fact that when I supervise clients, I hear that they get good results and are satisfied. That gives a lot of satisfaction in my work.

How do you see the future of water disinfection?

I think the technology we use can play a very big role in the world in the areas of environment and sustainability. In particular, the in-situ production (on-site production) of the disinfectant. This makes transportation of liquids unnecessary. It is also nice that nowadays we all think a bit more carefully about what we put in the earth and what chemistry we use. I definitely see our technology as one of the earlier steps to improve the environment and thus treat our world sustainably.
